Fishing Tackle and Tea
It was Easter morning and wifey, the munchkin and I were taking the scenic route back home along the strand when we noticed chairs and a table right at the water’s edge.
Looking up, we noted that the strand fishing tackle shop had recently undergone some renovations and was now a bright, friendly, white and blue shopfront with tables set around it.
Sure enough, the tackle shop has opened up a little cafe!
From 9am you can get your caffeine fix and light breakfast among the fishermen shopping for lures and reels on the banks of the Shannon.
The good news is no one knows it’s here yet, so it’s a lovely little place to get a tea (or a cappucino and a muffin) right, literally, at the water’s edge.
We got ourselves a pot of tea for two and a giant blueberry muffin which was served on tasteful, square white porcelin with a garnish of whip cream and a strawberry! Verrry ni-suh! The total came to just €3.65 – brilliant! You’d pay a lot more for that just up the river at the Radisson!
And hey – you can’t beat that view, can you?
