Where the weir went?
Above is the flooded weir today, below is a pic I took two months ago, so you can see where the weir went.
It takes a vast amount of water for the Shannon to have risen this high at the weir wall. All of the floodplains south of the weir would need to be overrun (they are) and the banks flooded (they are) for the weir to (oh, it rhymes) disappear. I can’t say I recall the water being this high in the last four years . . . should another storm hit us, we could very well be underwater.
